So with the team still working on Nanoha and my exams over, I decided to take on a big project that no one had subbed yet: King of Thorn (well, now it’s subbed as of 2 days ago, but I blame exams for my delay ;P). All major signs in the movie are shown in english on screen, so it would be redundant to do those. The end song has also been translated mostly because I REALLY like the song (been on repeat for the past week).
Since this is my individual release, this is just my TL and timing of the QTS 720p raw for now. No plans for 1080p really because it’s a bit too much for me to upload plus Squiggy has already released a 1080p version which you can find here: S-Fanrips. Alternatively, someone has released a 1080p version using the V2 script; you can get it here: [HACK-JOB] KoT 1080p [Torrent].
I’ll try to convince the team to work on this movie after they have a well deserved break. As a special bonus for this release, I’ve included links for all 6 volumes of the manga as well as the ending song. You’ll find that the manga is quite different from the movie, so reading it is an another experience in itself.

let me get this straight, there is a chance that you guys will release another version of this which is going to be better than this right?

The Seto Otaku version, if it comes, will mostly include 1080p/720p/480p encodes with karaoke effects for the ending song. Script may get some finetuning and then whatever else we can think of to make a great release.
Did you translate this from Japanese or from one of the official subtitles that are floating around the net? This is relevant for people who want to release a different version of it (I particularly dislike the styling, the font is too thin; also, the timing has multiple issues with overlapping lines).
From the Japanese audio. I didn’t have any problems with overlap (watched it on 2 different laptops), but some lines were linked via frames, so that might be why. I’ll be sure to note that from now on, thanks for pointing it out.
EDIT: Went ahead and redid the lines that possibly had that issue, put the new script up. Again, thanks for the heads up.
I must say, if your TL really is from JP (and hence without a dedicated editing pass) then this is some impressive work…

I highly recommend that you check out Hiryuu fansubs (http://www.hiryuufansubs.com/) for next season then. Seto Otaku shares some members with them. So far they’ll be doing Freezing which is quite an awesome manga =)

How do I know when the patch is installed?
If it worked correctly, this should be your new filename: [Harth][QTS]_Ibara_no_Ou_-King_of_Thorn-_v2_[BD_1280x720_AAC][336E3334].mkv

Extract the files into the same file path as the v1 file. Run the .bat, and it should start reconstructing another file in the same folder. Wait until the command prompt tells you “Press any key to continue,” and then you can close everything. You should have a new file approx the same size with the filename I posted above.

Preliminary question just to make sure, but both parts are in the same file path right? File name for parts are the same except for part1/part2, correct?
Anyway, if that doesn’t work, it might be that one of your downloaded parts is probably corrupt. Unfortunately, that means you’ll probably have to download it again =\
If you elect to redownload, I would suggest you just download one part first and test with your existing one to save you some bandwidth.

I don’t know how you guys processed the audio, but I don’t hear any voice/music track through my external media player hook-up. All I get is the sound fx track. This is the second time I’ve encountered this with an MKV file. There’s no multi-channel selection – it only reads one audio track but it’s just sound fx’s. Was this a 5.1 mix or something? Looks great, but sucks there’s no voices or music.
